| Advanced Control Systems I -- Electrical Engineering (EL ENG) C220A [3 units] | ||||
| Course Format: Three hours of lecture and one hour of discussion per week. | ||||
| Prerequisites: An undergraduate course in control systems (e.g., Mechanical Engineering 132 or Mechanical Engineering C134/Electrical Engineering C128) and linear algebra background (e.g., Engineering 231) is recommended. | ||||
| Credit option: Students will receive no credit for Electrical Engineering C220A after taking Mechanical Engineering 232. | ||||
| Description: Input-output and state space representation of linear continuous and discrete time dynamic systems. Controllability, observability, and stability. Modeling and identification. Design and analysis of single and multi-variable feedback control systems in transform and time domain. State observer. Feedforward/preview control. Application to engineering systems. Also listed as Mechanical Engineering C232. | ||||
